The Lucky 7 Meme

I’ve been tagged by the lovely and talented Tania Walsh for the Lucky 7 Meme.

The rules of this meme are:

1. Go to page 77 of your current MS/WIP
2. Go to line 7
3. Copy down the next 7 lines, sentences, or paragraphs, and post them as they’re written.
4. Tag 7 authors
5. Let them know

So, the following lines are from The Grave Winner:

Other than the black stump of a tree and Sarah’s footsteps burnt into the grass, everything looked normal. If it weren’t for the police tape, I’d think I imagined the whole thing last night. After leaning my bike against a nearby tree, I parked myself next to Mom’s headstone.
It’s me again, Mom. I can’t stay away from you.
Movement caught my eye. Tram walked towards me, scooping back the hood that covered his head. His curls turned in the wind. I scolded my heart when it did a little flip.
“I was here earlier. Where were you?” I asked.
The seven authors I choose are:
2. Ian
If I don’t get around to letting you know you’ve been tagged, my apologies. Time hasn’t been a friend to me lately. 🙁

  1. I fully sympathise with lack of time, Lindsey. Ooh, another tag. Hmmm…with my current WIP spread out on my hard drive like an open heart patient, finding page 77 might take a while, but I’ll get there 🙂

  2. That is truly a cool excerpt to come out of the Lucky 7. I loved it and it totally made me want to read your book. Seriously, you should use this in blurbs. If the whole novel is this good, I’m sure it will be published.

  3. Ian – you did it! I read it! It was awesome!

    Tania – Yes, I love a little tension. 🙂

Shell – Thank you so much! I’m working on the whole publishing thing…

  4. I might have to cheat a bit. My first shot at finding the excerpt turned out sounding like something out of Mysti’s book. It’s the scene where Mirian first starts crying on Jerok’s shoulder.

I may try something other than kindle format and see if I get a different page 77.

    🙂

    1. Not that there is anything wrong with Mysti’s books, obviously. My excerpt sounded like a romance story when it isn’t.

Let me see what I can do…

  5. Soooo, THAT’s what this meme is all about. I noticed Jenny Twist posted that and tagged me on FB and I was like, what’s this excerpt all about? There were no details to go with it.

I’m so out of the loop. Bleh! Let’s see if I can do sumpin bout it.
