Gwyn Snow Will Save Us All From the Zombie Apocalypse

You heard it here first, people! Who is Gwyn Snow? Well, I’ll let her tell you. Yeah, she’s right here. How cool is that? The woman who will save us all from the undead is right here. With me. Right now.

Okay, Gwyn, time to show everyone just how boss you are!

Hi, I’m Gwyn Snow. You can find my story about after the end in Hero for Hire, written by Margaret Madigan and Merissa McCain and published by Lyrical Press, release date October 1, 2013.

But, authors don’t know everything, right? Here’s the inside scoop on a few things they might not know about me.

I’m a very private person, but I’m not at all shy. I just have a hard time connecting with people sometimes. But I’m getting better at that, because Rafe and the boys are so warm, and they just suck a person in with their lack of formality. It’s a new dynamic, but I’m enjoying it.

I wish I had done more with my life before the end. I took so much pride in making breakthroughs, and in being the best scientist that I could be, that I missed out on so much. I’d have loved to go to Venice and see the sinking city. I’d have adored walking through the wisteria tunnels in Japan. And I won’t be doing either of those things now, because even if they are still there, travel is impossible. I guess what I’m saying, is I wish I’d seized life. And now I do the things I want to do before I lose the chance. Because regret is a powerfully terrible thing.

I hate dealing with people who try tell you what to do. Yes, I know I was just preaching about seizing life as it comes a moment ago. But I was saying how I felt about it. I know my philosophy wouldn’t necessarily work for everyone, and besides, the idea of trying to dictate what other people do strikes me as incredibly arrogant.  So when people do it to me, I tend to do the opposite of what they want me to, just out of pure stubbornness. I’m working on not reacting instead. It’s far less destructive.

So, one of the questions I’ve been getting a lot since my story went public, is what’s next for me. The answer? I’m not terribly sure. The thing about seizing life is that it seems to get in the way of plans. I know I want to be with Rafe and the boys for as long as they want me there. I’ve been told that’ll be forever, and a girl can always hope, right? I know I want to keep working on the cure. It’s working very well on the newly infected, but it’s not quite as effective on people who have been infected for a long time. Also, we’ve got to find a way to manufacture it. Other than that? I’m finding my adventures as I go along, and I wish that for all of you too.

See what I mean? Gwyn is smart, determined, and she has a good heart. If it wasn’t for her, we’d all be mindless, drooling, and trailing our half-eaten leg behind us. No fun. Here’s the cover and blurb for Hero For Hire.

One day her prince would come…disguised as a zombie-killer.

Having been disgraced and tossed out by her own scientific community, Gwyn is convinced she can develop a cure for a SuperVirus that has turned the Infected into zombies. By pure luck and determination, she has survived on her own for years, but while out scavenging, a clash with the local zombies leaves her potentially infected. Now, running out of time, she needs help and takes a chance on a hero for hire.

Rafe loves the apocalypse. Since the world went to hell, everything’s come up roses for him. Having procured a mansion in the Hollywood hills, adopted a slew of homeless boys and one cantankerous but useful Doc, Mr. Charming is benefiting from the nasty zombie infestation. His job? Killing the bastards, which he considers fun anyway. Gwyn Snow needs Rafe Charming to help retrieve her research from the Paragon Pharmaceuticals lab, also known as Zombie Central. Believing she can yet save the world, Gwyn makes Rafe question what’s right and what’s worth the fight.

About Merissa

I love to read, write, drink strong coffee and eat dark chocolate–not necessarily in that order and sometimes all at once. I live in the deep South, with my very own superhero, and my three minions. Together, we attempt to take over the world.

When not otherwise occupied with planning world domination, I’m a voracious reader and adore happy endings. I write what I love to read, so I write romance and stories with romantic elements to them.

My novella Hero for Hire, written jointly with the fabulous Margaret Bail is due for release on October 1, 2013. It’s a Paranormal Romance featuring a campy post apocalyptic take on the Snow White tale, and is the first in our Tales from Beyond the End series.

About Margaret

Hi. I’m Margaret Madigan. Or M.K.D. Bail, depending on what literary genre we’re talking about!

I live in the vast Northern Plains where it’s quiet and mostly empty, and very conducive to letting my imagination run wild. As a result, I have difficulty focusing on just one genre of storytelling. Of course, I love romance, so I write a lot of that, but I also write science fiction, and dabble in other genres just for the fun of it.

When I’m not writing you’ll find me in a college classroom teaching English, or working as a literary agent for an amazing agency…and of course enjoying time with my family.
